Blinding Lights Milik The Weeknd Nomor 1 di Chart Lagu R&B/Hip-Hop Terpopuler Abad ke-21 Versi Billboard

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Lagu “Blinding Lights” milik The Weeknd mengungguli semua pesaingnya di tangga lagu Billboard Top Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs of the 21st Century. Lagu hits tersebut berhasil menempati posisi pertama berdasarkan catatan performa lagunya di tangga mingguan Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs dari tahun 2000 hingga akhir 2024.

Kesuksesan besar lagu “Blinding Lights” datang buka tanpa alasan. Mengutip dari laman Billboard (28/8/2025), lagu ini mampu bertahan di 10 besar Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs selama 59 minggu, rekor terlama sepanjang sejarah tangga lagu yang sudah ada sejak 1958. 

Tak hanya itu, “Blinding Lights” juga pernah menduduki posisi #1 selama sebelas minggu. Rekor ini sekaligus menjadi pencapaian terbesar The Weeknd dari sembilan lagunya yang pernah menempati puncak tangga lagu. 

Pada November 2021, “Blinding Lights” dinobatkan sebagai juara di daftar Greatest of All The Time Hot 100 songs di Billboard. “Aku rasa ini belum benar-benar terasa buatku,” respon The Weeknd atas prestasinya tersebut.

Solois Kanada The Weeknd mengisi halftime Super Bowl 2021 dengan aksi yang prima. Membawakan beberapa hits miliknya, The Weeknd terlihat bersemangat sambil bernyanyi secara live.

Penyanyi yang memiliki nama asli Abel Tesfaye itu mengatakan bahwa dirinya sangat bersyukur atas pencapaian yang ia raih melalui lagu “Blinding Lights.” 

“Aku bersyukur atas anugerah yang aku dapat, dan aku benar-benar bersyukur,” ujarnya kepada Billboard setelah mengetahui lagunya berhasil memimpin daftar sepanjang masa lintas genre. 

Berikut deretan lagu yang berhasil masuk ke dalam 10 besar tangga lagu Billboard Top Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs of the 21st Century.

Di urutan kesepuluh ada “Blurred Lines” dari Robin Thicke, disusul “Pretty Wings” milik Maxwell di posisi kesembilan. Lalu di peringkat kedelapan ada “Snooze” dari SZA, sementara “Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse)” dari Post Malone dan Swae Lee yang juga jadi soundtrack Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse menempati posisi ketujuh.

Di posisi keenam, ada “That’s What I Like” dari Bruno Mars, dan “Thrift Shop” dari Macklemore & Ryan Lewis berhasil duduk di urutan kelima. Sementara itu, “Sure Thing” dari Miguel menempati posisi keempat.

Masuk tiga besar, “Be Without You” dari Mary J. Blige ada di posisi ketiga, disusul “Industry Baby” milik Lil Nas X bersama Jack Harlow di peringkat kedua. Dan akhirnya, yang menduduki posisi puncak alias nomor satu adalah “Blinding Lights” dari The Weeknd.
